So put on your glad rags for the show

Last chance to see SaltimBuc 27th June at Bures

on Sun, 04/05/2015 - 10:35

Saltimbuc is Back !

Following last year’s successful debut of And the Winner Is… , the troupe has been expanding the storyline, as well as adding new musical numbers and characters, to bring this spectacular, red carpet event back to the stage.

The show has been written by the cast themselves and ‘shaped’ by professional trainers from the Paris-based theatre company DramaTies, with the support of PSAB parents. It is suitable for all ages and promises to be a fabulous family night out.

The show begins already with champagne on the Red Carpet of the theatre, before the actual Award Ceremony. So put on your glad rags for the evening and rub shoulders with the stars… It’s your chance to enjoy all the glamour and excitement of our very own Tony Awards on your doorstep!

In case you have never heard of this talented English-speaking youth theatre group, the Saltimbuc troupe was set up by PSAB parents back in 2008 to give SIA kids the opportunity to read the boards in English and provide ‘home-made’ entertainment for the ever-growing Anglophone community. We have already staged numerous productions both in Buc and surrounding theatres (Versailles, St. Aubin and Bures-sur-Yvette).

We currently have 3 shows planned for 2015:

- Saturday 16th May, 8pm in Le Centre Culturel des Arcades, Buc

- Sunday Matinee 17th May 3pm in Le Centre Culturel des Arcades, Buc

- Saturday 27th June, 8pm in Le Centre Culturel Marcel Pagnol, Bures-sur-Yvette

To secure your places and avoid disappointment on the night, pre-book your tickets below using any bank card Tickets 7€, when paying indicate the number of under 5 years coming and they will come free.

Spread the word and come and enjoy what this talented bunch of kids can do!

Set Em Up Joe FOLK evening

on Fri, 02/06/2015 - 14:15

THE ENGLISH ARE COMING!!!

Pin back your ears and dust off your dancing shoes for the first ever PSAB folk night…

Saturday March 28th, at Louis Bleriot school hall. 19h30 – 22h30

SET EM UP JOE

A versatile and accomplished group of musicians and singers steeped in the rich traditions of English folk music. Concertina, fiddle, guitar, mandola, melodeon and soaring vocal harmonies, their music spans workers songs from across the last three centuries to contemporary Anglo/American acoustic roots, with a passing nod to trad jazz. Hailing from Malvern, they’re true stalwarts of the local folk scene in Worcestershire; they've been playing music together for over twenty years, and have performed at festivals and folk clubs all over England. The band are experienced dance callers so the evening could end with a ceilidh if you’re all up for dancing.

This is a unique chance to get together and enjoy a fine aspect of English culture that is incredibly popular but rarely makes the headlines or the mainstream music press.

Reserve now! The concert is free, but please don’t come empty handed -  a hat will be passed and all contributions to the musicians’ beer fund gratefully received. There’ll also be a raffle with amazing mystery prizes and the band will have copies of their beautiful CD (“ Down where the hard times are not forgotten”) for sale. Please also bring a plate of nibbles and something to wash it down with.

PSAB Members will recieve an email invitation to reserve. (Punchbowl), look out for it.
