Transport

Public transport to the three Buc International Sections

International section students make use of the extensive bus network that already exists for students at the neighbouring Lycée Franco Allemand (LFA). Many of these buses are taken generally only by school children and provide reliable service for even primary-aged kids.

Information on bus routes is also provided by ALFA (LFA parents’ association) http://www.alfa-buc.org/fr/bus-lfa-reseau/

Transport Pass: All school children and students are entitled to an “Imagin’R” ticket that is valid in all public transports (bus, tram, metro and suburban train lines) in the entire Ile-de-France area 7 days a week. For more information, see FAQ – PSAB Parents de la Section Anglophone de Buc.

Detailed information and subscription: Forfait imagine R : découvrez votre tarif | Souscription et renouvellement du passe | Île-de-France Mobilités (iledefrance-mobilites.fr)

Using the Buses: It is important that your child validate a bus pass or ticket on each journey. If passengers don’t validate their cards, Ile-de-France Mobilités may decide to cancel a bus service considering it to be inefficient. (This has already happened!) So please remind your child regularly to validate. There are controls on the buses and children who have not validated a pass will be fined.

Bad Weather: In case of extremely bad weather, school buses may not be running. Consult the website of the bus company responsible for your route or the twitter feed of the Yvelines: @Prefet78 or www.yvelines.pref.gouv.fr

School Timetable & Transport

In middle school, lessons largely take place from 8h45am to 4h20 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Wednesday 8h45am – 5h15pm. These schedules make it possible to take the buses of the many lines also serving the Lycée Franco-Allemand next door. Primary and high school students also use this bus network, timetables permitting. Families with primary school children should not rely on the LFA buses in the mornings, since Ecole Louis Clément is around 400m from the bus stops.
